2020 Registration Updates & Info

2020 Registration Changes

The highlights are set forth below to provide advanced notification. 

Registration for 2020 will open July  23, 2019 and close on June 10, 2020.

 

2020 Registration Fees

Grassroots new referees $80.00 + $20 to US Soccer in the DLC

Recertifying Grassroots Referees, formerly grades 7 & 8 $100.00 + $20.00 to US Soccer in the DLC (although this is not yet finalized and the $20.00 charge may not be applied)

Recertifying Regional Referees, formerly State Grade Referees: $100.00 + $37.50 to US Soccer in the DLC (although this is not yet finalized and the $37.50 charge may not be applied)

Lifetime Referee Members (All positions): $0.00

 

Emeritus Grade Referees

State & National Emeritus (Referees 45 and older): $100.00 + $37.50 to US Soccer in the DLC (although this is not yet finalized and the $37.50 charge may not be applied)

 

NCSRA Staff

Assessors & Instructors (All Grades): $100.00

Assignors: $150.00

All Recertifying Registrations will inclur an additional $20.00 late payment fee after October 1st. This late registration fee does not apply to registrations completed before October 1st or to Entry Level Referee's and Assignors.

$100.00 + $20.00 = $120.00

 

Clinics & Events

Grassroots Referees (formerly Grade 8 & 7 Referees)

There is an in person on field training clinic requirement for all new referees.

There will be no required In Person Clinic for recertification.  

NCSRA will offer advanced level in class and on field training for referee improvement throughout the year, but these events will be optional.

 

Grade 7As and Regional Referees

All Grades must attend the One Day Regional Referee Clinic held on July 20, 2019 in Greensboro, NC

Assignors

ALL Assignors must completed their (new) online course requirements which will be a webinar.

ALL Assignors must attend the One Day In Person Clinic held on July 21, 2019 in Greensboro, NC

Instructors

ALL Instructors must complete their online course requirements.

ALL Instructors must attend the Two Day In Person Clinic held on July 20-21, 2019 in Greensboro, NC

 

Assessors

Assessor online requirements are TBD.

ALL Assessors must attend the One Day In Person Clinic held on July 21, 2019 in Greensboro, NC

 

 

Advanced Grade Requirements

Grade 7A (Advanced Grassroots Referees) UPGRADING

Completion of the Regional Referee Online Coursework and Exam

Submit payment for Assessment pior to submission and approval of Match Log to the SAC to upgrade

Pass a Physical Fitness Test

Pass one Formal Upgrade Assessment on a U15 or above match. The match time must be at least 70 minutes

Attend the Regional Referee In Person Training Clinic or the make up events if unable to attend

 

Grade 7A (Advanced Grassroots Referee) MAINTENANCE

Completion of the Regional Referee Online Coursework and Exam

Pass a Physical Fitness Test

Assessments are no longer required for Maintenance

Attend the Regional Referee In Person Training Clinic or the make up events if unable to attend

 

Regional Referee (Formerly State Referee) Upgrading

Completion of the Regional Referee Online Coursework and Exam

Submission and approval of Match Log to the SAC

Passing the Regional Referee Physical Fitness Test (Women's FIFA Referee Test)

Pass two Formal Assessments by two different State Assessors or National Referee Coaches as the referee and one on the line as an Assistant Referee. One Referee assessment may be on U18 and above competitve youth but all other assessments must be on NCASA affiliated adult 80 minute or greater matches.

 

Regional Referees wishing to be considered for National Referee or National Assitant Referee

In addition to the Regional Referee requirements

Those requirements are:

Passing either the Referee or the Assistant Referee Physical Fitness Test. These PFTs are also difficult to stage so there will not be many opportunities

Pass Three Formal Assessments by three different National Referee Coaches as either Referee or as Assistant Referee if seeking National Assistant Referee track.  Any of these assessments may also be uised to qualify for the Regional requirements as well.

Regional Referee assessments may count towards National Referee or National Assistant Referee requirements if those assessments are completed by different National Referee Coaches on qualifying level matches.

 

Assessment Payment

As of Feburary 5th 2017, ALL Assessments will be the responsibility of the Referee

ANY assessment from this point on requires that assessment registration payment be made BEFORE the assessment

Payment for Assessments are a flat fee of $80.00 per assessment

 

2020 Assessment Payment 1

This payment is for all Regional Referee assessments and upgrading Grade 7A' Grassroots Referees

 

2020 Assessment Payment 2

This second payment is for all Regional Referee assessments.
